Scrapbook: Architecture

I think one of the things that facinated me most about Australia, or at least Melbourne in particular was the architecture as I'm sure you'll have gathered from many of my posts. I love all of the metalwork visible in various locations around the city below.
I particlularly liked the building pictured above, Milton House which I discovered on Flinder's Lane and was built in 1901 as a private hospital and is a great - and apparently rare in Australia - example of Art Nouveau architecture. The other pictures below are taken in residential streets in Seddon.

Scrapbook: Tile People

This photo was taken just around the corner from where I was staying in Seddon, Melbourne.

Scrapbook: Tile-tastic

One of the things I love most about the Melbourne landscape is the array of beautiful houses, complete with verandas and balconies. Sadly many are modern builds, however the odd Victorian building has been preserved. Wondering around the village of Seddon I discovered these original and beautiful tiles outside a rather modern home.
